Just saw this in The Daily Mail. This is one of Britains most widely purhased newspapers. Shockingly, I think some people might be reading it rather than simply wiping their arses with it.

That comment is perfect. It shows what 99% of “your tattoo looks bad” comments are actually about.

When someone says “how are you going to look in 60 years” or “you looked better before” they do not care about you. They are body shaming you.

You can be healthy at any weight—you could be ideal weight and starving yourself or eating only junk; you can be very over weight and a perfect weight lifter on a paleo diet. Obese is not a medical condition: it’s a number with little scientific value.

You can love that you’re tall or love that you’re short. You can have skinny legs or muscular thunder thighs. You can have a cute perky but or a giant round one. You can have any color hair at any length.

You can be beautiful without tattoos. You can be beautiful with tattoos.

Anyone who will try to tell you that the last statement isn’t true will also try to tell you that you can’t be fat, tall, or any number of other things as a woman. (Really though—notice how his comment is about women specifically.)

Fuck that noise. Those people are called “haters” and, even more accurately, chauvinists. We don’t owe them anything. We’re not here to appear beautiful in their eyes or give the remotest fucks as to what they think.

Our bodies, our choices. Period.

This is still my favourite song of his, and I do enjoy hearing a cover of it rather than of the more recent one that has given him so much recognition.

This is my first tattoo and I’m extremely happy with it. It’s inspired by the Fortin’ With Will sketch from Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! I originally thought it was just a funny idea and had a friend sketch it up, but I really liked what he drew out and after months of contemplation decided to get it tattooed on my leg. It was done by Heath Whitten of Hero Tattoo in Conway, SC.
